Part Une / Introducing the Isla Dress in Bronzed Jungle Fever.
So the wonderful folks at IGIGI asked me to review some pieces from their Urban Jungle and Avant Garden Collections for Fall/Winter 2014 and of course I said yes! I've loved their designs for years, so as a fan myself, I'm thrilled to show you the first piece in my two-part review.
My everyday size is 24/26/28 top and 26/28 bottom, however, in IGIGI's more forgiving sizing, I am a perfect 22/24 in dresses and the Isla was no exception. I'm also pretty tall (5'10) and the length hit right at the knee.
All materials are 100% polyester. The inner liner is a stretchy matte brown over the sheer chiffon-like outer leopard layer. The cap sleeves do not have a liner and are completely sheer and fluttery. The waist is stretchy-smock-empire style and sits above the natural waist, which gives a nice shape to the garment. There is also a little ruffle bib on the front soft-v neckline in the same sheer leopard for added femininity.
I am very, very pale, so I decided to pair this dress with my black We Love Colors tights and my favorite Cole Haan heels from many seasons ago for a more streamlined, work-appropriate look. For makeup, I used dark brown liner, Revlon Colorburst Matte Balm in Shameless and some bronzed contouring for lots of drama.
I'll be honest that when I first tried on this dress with my hair a mess and no makeup in sight, I was pretty concerned as to whether I would like it or not. However, it came seriously together when all the details were in place and I ended up loving it. The IGIGI Isla dress can go from day to night easily. I recommend it to anyone looking to have a bold, yet romantic leopard print in their closet.
Look for my next post on the IGIGI Lorenza Coat tomorrow! Happy Fall everyone! xoxo
