Winter around Chicago this year has been immensely better than it was last year. There have been some very cold and blustery days, but no Snowmageddon or Snowpocalypse 2: The Revenge in sight (at least any time soon). So, yes, I am wearing a thin, silky shirt whilst there's snow on the ground in this post because it was just above freezing aka a total heat wave! Here's more on the look:
This modern casual look features a striped slit-back top from Lane Bryant, my favorite Torrid Curvy Skinny Jeans, Faux-Suede Mossimo Stack Heel boots from Target with a fabulous pop of red on the back zipper and my friend's nude large clutch by Coach (which has a shoulder strap as well for easy convertibility).
While I no longer hesitate wearing horizontal stripes whenever I want, it was nice to find the elusive vertical stripe at Lane Bryant! This top is from the spring, so it's (sadly) no longer available. Same goes for the boots, but the style is rampant in every store, so you can find a similar style easily.
This is easily converted to a spring/summer look with a flowy pant, brighter accessories and makeup. You could also tuck the top into a neutral skirt and finish it with a colorful jacket or blazer. (Hmmm... new post idea!)

Today marks one year for Muselola.com and one year of sharing my love for plus size style and body positivity. Luckily the terrible twos only apply to mammals, so my goal for year two is to post WAYYY more often and to make some of those posts more personal and in-depth. I'm thinking skincare, jewelry, makeup, budgeting, cooking and trying to do yoga with a big belly.
Do you want to read about that? Please comment below and let me know what I'm doing right, what I'm doing wrong and what you'd like to see more of. I get inspiration from all over the place, so I'd love to have some directly from you!
All my love,
